This is one of the “Beaut Brute” series, in which I have worked with mirrored assault-machineguns and grapes. This version of “Beaut Brute” has many unassembled parts of mirrored machine-guns that line up on a faux fur belt conveyor. The parts are the actual parts from 7mirrored machineguns, which I can complete. The belt-conveyor is upholstered with white vinyl leather and silver round tacks. The type of gun is M16, the guns most popularly used in the US Military and others. My intension is to show the violent aspect of our desire to aestheticize objects in our life. The reason to show unassembled pieces is that I want to show our directive energy that vectors the desire to the image of completeness and perfection. Grapes historically has been used to show the ideas of “abundance,” “desire,” “decadence” and “sacredness.”
